About Jackie
Jackie started writing romance after her best friend showed her the 'novel' she'd been writing. It was a romance and it was fantastic. From then on, Jackie ditched the bad Lord of the Rings-style fantasies she'd been writing up until then and dedicated herself to the fine art of romance. At least in secret. For the next few years she started many novels, literary, SF, fantasy... But the only ones she ever finished were the romance novels she and a friend continued to write for one another.
Nearly twenty years later, a chance enounter with a Harlequin author provided the catalyst for an idea she'd been kicking around for few years: why not try writing for Mills and Boon? So she sent off an entry to a contest they were running and was not surprised to find that not only did she fail to win, but she failed to place too. What she did get, however, was a compliment slip telling her the editors liked her voice and could she please send her next project.
Six months later, Jackie threw in her day job as a librarian to write full time. Since she entered her first contest, she has placed runner-up in the Feel the Heat Contest in 2008, and has a new partial under submission.
Currently she is working on her fourth project and trying not to think about what's happening with her manuscript.
