Loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it! I've read you and Rach so far and I can see why everyone's talking. What are the rest of us supposed to do now huh? ;).

Angie – Wow, thanks! It’s really cool you liked it, all the wonderful comments are just fantastic. And yeah, the FTH entry was the best I could do with the knowledge I had at the time – which wasn’t much. Still learning even now though!
You have no need to feel sick – I thought your chapter was great! You have such a lovely voice.
Yeah, dunno about the ratings. Someone told me just now they gave it a five rose rating but the scores didn’t change. I don’t think it really matters for this round.I’m just pleased people are reading it and enjoying it.

Coming in late, Jackie. Your chapter is so contemporary, so Modern Heat – you must be definitely close to getting offered a contract. I think this will help the M&B editors sit up and take notice as your chapter has generated so much buzz and wonderful comments! I personally love stories where the heroine gets herself in an embarrassing predicament. Your Feel the Heat chapter was also fabulous, but after reading Talking Dirty it’s obvious you’ve come a long way with your writing skills. Congrats!

Am so glad I entered before reading your chapter otherwise I would’ve chickened out from entering! Still feel sick – please pass the barf bag 🙂

BTW, how do you work the rating system? When I login, I’m not able to rate anything – only comment. I hope they get all the issues on the site ironed out before the 50/50 judging round. I agree – formatting was a nightmare.

Caroline – Lol! I must have been leaving a comment on your blog while you left a comment on mine! Great minds think alike. 🙂 Thanks heaps re my chapter! I feel a bit like Sally Field “They like me! They really like me!”. There hasn’t been much that’s positive about my writing this year so I’m extremely happy so many people like it. I’m writing chapter 2 in the hope of a request.

Elissa – thanks so much for reading! Glad you liked it! Conflict has been the bugbear. As is trying too hard. It’s much better when I turn off the ‘must include this, this, and this’ editor person that talks craft to me when I’m writing. I think I’ve got it now – my current sub in at the moment certainly has the conflict so if that’s rejected, I’m hoping it won’t be for that. Maybe it’ll be for something else. Oh well, onwards and upwards!
