When you first started writing for MH you probably felt exactly the same way as you do now about the Steampunk. You just need to approach it with the same gusto. My guess is it will help revitalise your MH as well. So my advice is YOU GO GIRL…

Leah - don't know that I can write anything other than contemporary either. :-)

Elizabeth - hey there! Yeah, I could re the R'd MH stuff. Though I think other eds would have the same problems with them. Still, worth thinking about...

Judy - Meh! Sheep! Lol! May for the Force be with us...

Ju - you're right. I've been going with it actually because I think the well needs filling. Hope the meh goes away though 'cause it's kind of depressing. :-)

Cat - It's funny, I think doing something different has tensed me up. I feel weird writing it. Maybe I need to relax or something. Certainly getting back into the MH wip feels like pulling on comfortable sweat pants after being in tight skinny jeans all day!

Susan - I actually have to write more than one chapter and who knows if it'll ever be more than a fiddle with kind of deal? Currently it's making me love contemporary even more! :-)

Jackie, that sounds fabulous. Something completely and utterly different might be brilliant for you. You may find you love it and want to stay there or you may find it sends you kicking and scremaing back to MH. Good luck with whatever happens, I look forward to reading your steampunk!

Oh Jax..when I'm so unbothered..u'll not see me being concerned about anything.. writing, blogging, talking, rambling, or even reading.

That being said, I'll do what's expected out of me (especially at home - the usual cooking, cleaning etc), and will smile and move on as if nothing wrong happened..

Eventually my brain will be so tired of this "inactivity" and it will start kicking and screaming to be noticed...

And if the end result is a sparkling new idea... why not?

IMO, the meh - moment is probably like the brain's way of taking a break...In simple terms, the only way to overcome it is to allow it..

Love the Steampunk With Magic revelation. Cooooool! I am passing you my blow up light saber (it makes a raspberry noise and it helps fight off the writing ego’s dark side – I have mine out right now and it’s got its work cut out)jx
