Hey, back again. Ohope was...actually pretty much like the picture! Very nice...

I like alpha males personally but I'm with Lorraine, as long as the heroine has what it takes to put him in his place when needed. But I do think they'd be hell on earth to live with. :-)

Someone else posted a link on a piece about a real life alpha hero and the trouble he has existing in today's world lol. I'll see if I can find it. It was a really interesting read.

I think it's a very fine line between alpha male and horrible pain in the neck - I know sometimes mine veer too far towards the second category so then I overcompensate by making them too nice.

Have a great break. Hope the beach is just as lovely as the photo.

:-)

I think the attraction of alpha males (at least in romantic fiction) is the fact that they're proactive and decisive and often take charge. Personally I'm not a fan of the 'me big strong man, you weak little female' sort, but I reckon you can write an alpha male without him being a throwback from the Stone Age.

Looks fairly exotic to me but I know what you mean. A good place to chill out I hope :-)

I like alpha heroes (when accompanied by a strong heroine) but writing them is starting to feel as problematic as that dreaded conflict. You have to make them sympathetic but not in a way that lessens their 'alphaness'.

Ah well, enjoy your time out (but be careful when mixing alcohol with badminton - sounds like a recipe for an accident ;-)
