I’m totally rubbish at thinking up titles and only really get round to it if absolutely necessary. I wonder who’s responsible for titles at M&B and how they come up with the gems they do…

No, I’m sure that’s not the case with you either! A title is a small thing though, it’s the whole story that matters (or so I’m telling myself).

Thanks for the optimism – ‘when’ M&B come knocking… 🙂 I’m thinking they will – not sure how many years I’ll have to wait though! Perhaps we can all sell this year??

I’m like you… either start with a brilliant title that actually shapes the novel (that’s the story for my current mss) or can’t think of one for the life of me. I think in my case, my title reflects the quality of the writing, but I’m sure that’s not the case with you 🙂

Good luck… but you’re right. WHEN M&B come knocking at your door, your title won’t matter anyway!
