Sorry, Jackie - arriving horribly late - but yours is one of the first blogs I've caught up with after time away from blogging (day job - yuk).

Who said it was easy? That will be someone who's never tried writing 'em.

And, if it is down to voice, you have a head start because your blog voice is always terrific.

Thinking of you. I know waiting's horrid. I'm getting my knickers in a twist because an editor is a couple of weeks later than normal getting back to me about a SHORT STORY - waiting to hear about a book is much worse.

Seconding what Maisey said here, Jackie. NO body who writes category pubbed or unpubbed would ever say it's easy!!

Fingers crossed, it's good news.

And yeah Modern Heat is a toughie, cos it's constantly "evolving" - but that's what makes it exciting (she says with fixed grin on face while trying to make sense of the mess which is her current ms!!)

Well, Jax my dear, people who say category is easy have never tried to write it.

Yes, Modern Heat is an absolute toughy. Scares me to death, and that's the absolute truth!

I hope you hear back soon though, and I'm sure it will be good news...you're too brilliant for it to be anything else!

And Lacey, Lacey is a faithful commenter. I've felt quite abandoned lately too! But not by Lacey.

Sorry Jackie: I've been a bit of a lurker these days, too. I have been struggling a little with not knowing where I fit. But thanks to a fellow blogger who directed me to a brilliant essay, I am feeling much better. I will be posting the link to said essay on my blog this morning. I think anyone who has ever stuggled with their writing (and who hasn't) will find it worth the read.

P.S. I wouldn't want to know before holiday either.
